What's to say about the Charleston shootings that hasn't already been said?
We've verbally sparred news outlets refusing to call Dylann Roof a "terrorist," rightfully condemned him as a pure evil representation of Capitalist supremacy (White supremacy, for others, which we tend to disagree on) and wondered just when black people in America will be able to do anything without being massacred for it.
What comes next? What actions will follow this tragedy? The verbal discourse on the intersections of race, mass shootings and our reactions is a great start. Funnymen such as Jon Stewart prioritizing the shooting over nightly fodder is another. But unless we understand that this is-and has always been-a systemic issue, we can expect more mass killings in the future.
That's all we can say on the matter for now.
To the Charleston 9, Rest In Power
And if you still care, we got a little something about Rachel Dolezal this week to help cheer things up. Keep it locked.
Management's Note: S/O to the cats who did this.
