That's not a "mistake", you say?
Well, someone might wanna tell David Becker's lawyer that-because his client apparently committed that "mistake" this past April, but he still defended the fella during his court sentencing last week:
- "We all made mistakes when we were 17, 18, 19 years old, and we shouldn't be branded for life with a felony offense and branded a sex offender."
Oh, and here's the best part. For his rape, indecent assault and battery charges, Mr. Becker will serve the stiff sentence of two years probation.
And it gets better. Not only will he never feel the sweet, tender touch of Bubba's phallic revenge in his insides, but he won't even have to register as a sex offender. Or have any convictions on his record, as long as he abides by his probation rules.
After all, "we all make mistakes." It's just that when you're a young, white guy who happens to be a star athlete, combined with clean-cut All-American looks, you're probably much more likely to go scot-free for shit they'd put black kids under the jail for.
Anyways, we're so glad this 18-year-old not only understands consent, but will be able to "look forward to a productive life without being burdened with the stigma of having to register as a sex offender," his lawyer added.
