To Mr. Bratton,
Heya, BossMan! And we mean that in respect. You do head the largest police force in America! That's a whole lot of blue soldiers to be in charge of. Especially when most of them are probably uber thick at the waist and have Taz The Tasmanian Devil's IQ levels.
We kid, we kid! Anyways, enough shtick. Time to tackle the nitty gritty. Mr. Bratton, as we understand it, you recently said the following about last week's shooting at a concert by rapper T.I. in Union Square? In apparent reference to all rappers?
So if you're gonna use coded language-and you'd be a much cooler guy if you didn't-at least spread that toxicity around. There are plenty of rap concerts that go on in the country annually. Some have shootings; most don't. But we'd be the site the same holds true with music concerts of other genres.
That's it for now. Continue having your officers arrest churro ladies to keep them from shooting up Five Guys down the line. Or eventually taking hostages in the Holland Tunnel. We can't have any more "Broken Windows" in this glass-box city, after all.
Yours Truly,
HD
P.S. Love the Boaston accent!

“The crazy world of the so-called rap artists who are basically thugs that basically celebrate the violence that they live all their lives and unfortunately that violence often manifests itself during the performances and that’s exactly what happened last evening. The music, unfortunately, oftentimes celebrates gun violence, celebrates the degradation of women, celebrates the drug culture and it’s unfortunate that as they get fame and fortune, that some of them are just not able to get out of the life, if you will."Mmm. Got it. Now, Mr. Bratton, we at HD in Effect don't mean to be killjoys or anything. But that "Thug" word you so casually threw around has a not so friendly history with our country's darker citizens. It's a term that never seems to stick to our lighter skinded breadrin-no matter what they do.
